Mapping brain networks: cortical fields and connectivity

Date/Time: Friday 22 February 2013, 03:00pm - 04:30pm

Speaker: Dr. Alexandros Goulas [Dep. of Neuropsychol. and Psychopharm., Maastricht Univ., Netherlands]

Event Location: Behavioural Brain Science Building 163 [Location Map]

Abstract Alexandros will survey the most recent insights into the specifc functional and anatomical characterization of brain networks within human prefrontal cortex.

Some recent findings on this functional parcellation of the prefontal cortex have been published already:
- Goulas A, Uylings HB, Stiers P (2012) Unravelling the intrinsic functional organization of the human lateral frontal cortex: a parcellation scheme based on resting state fMRI. The Journal of neuroscience : the official journal of the Society for Neuroscience 32:10238-10252.
- Goulas A, Uylings HB, Stiers P (2012) Mapping the Hierarchical Layout of the Structural Network of the Macaque Prefrontal Cortex. Cerebral cortex.
